Busyness Heals All Wounds

By 9:55 AM , , , , , ,

They say that time heals all wounds. And considering it's been two weeks since our beloved Shadow went home to Dog Heaven, I'd like to propose an alternative thought.

Busyness heals all wounds.

Yes, time may be involved in the flurry of busyness. But without being busy, time sometimes gives us the opportunity to wallow, think, reminisce, be miserable.

Busyness, however, is distracting. There's no way you can focus on the pain for even 5 minutes when you have to juggle 10 projects or are rushing here and there.

Last week, I was beyond busy. So much so that I wasn't even in the office the whole of last week. All my projects took me outside of the office.

It was only over the weekend, when I got to rest after the flurry of activity the days prior, that I stopped to remember. It was when the rush of thoughts — funny memories, things that won't happen anymore — came crashing. In fact, I'm actually looking forward to the week to come, only in the sense that I won't have time to think of anything else but what I'm supposed to do.

For the most part, though, I'm back to being my usual chipper self: cracking stupid jokes, making silly faces in pictures, trying to get by. And I know I'm getting there.

I just have to keep myself busy.
