So. I’m quite sad that I’m done with my Basic French lessons (I "graduated" last Saturday) and I want to continue learning on my own. I decided to scour the internet for free MP3s and I’ve found a couple of websites.

The thing is, I realized, after downloading a whole bunch of MP3s…I can’t appreciate what I’m listening to without something to read. It’d be weird to pronounce words and sentences correctly based solely on what I’m hearing without knowing how they’re spelled and written.

Dear French speakers/fellow French students and Francophiles, would you know where I can download free MP3s with appropriate workbooks?

  1. I do not know if you subscribe to cable channels. Kids shows in french, like a sesame street in french. Nice way to hear and learn pretty basic french. And then you can take it from there. It is always good to start from the beginning as you built up, to hear it, saying it.

Much easier to learn faster if you could speak [speaker voice] on line with someone who can chat or talk, who is french speaking at the same time who understands and can express in english language too. That would be great!

Ayez un jour splendide Tina! :)

  2. Hi there, blogger friend! Yes, our TVs have cable although we only have one French channel (TV5MONDE), which usually shows news programs. I don't really get to catch children's shows, unfortunately.

I'll try to look around for someone who can speak to me, though. You're right; practicing is really the best way to learn.

Thanks for the suggestion! Bonne journée à toi aussi!
