A Lesson in Irony

Last Saturday, my mom (who works in the PR/Communications dept. of Ateneo) asked me — very nervously, at that — if I would make the congratulatory banner so they could have it printed just in case Ateneo won Game 2. She didn’t want to jinx the game, but it was better to have one made in case they did win.

So I made the banner (which was freaking huge, by the way — thank God my laptop didn’t give up on me), watched Game 2, and the team lost so they obviously didn’t roll out the banner.Yesterday, Game 3 (the do-or-die match) happened and I was at work. I couldn’t take a half-day leave, I didn’t watch the game in the pantry because I was busy writing headlines for print ads. I only knew how the game was progressing c/o Yahoo! Messenger, Twitter and Facebook updates.

I then realized, as the game was coming to a close, that I wouldn’t see the banner unfurl.

But it’s okay; I was just glad that they won. And that I saw a picture of the team holding it. *beams*
